Energy and Glenn Beck's T-shirt

I would like to have offered my opinion in my own words but I had to rely on providing third party resources. I simply have not had time because of the project I have been working on in addition to having a significant amount of personal issues I have been distracted with (one being legal documents for reassessing our child support now that our income has been drastically reduced for the long term...long story but all your prayers would be welcome!!) I hope you guys understand.

I was also asked to explain this t-shirt of Glenn Beck's:

It reads: Bitter typical white person clinging to God and my guns.

First the "typical white person" part. Article link here for Obama Calls Grandmother a "Typical White Person" in Radio Interview.

Second, while at a closed fund raiser in San Francisco on April 11th Senator Obama was recorded saying this:

"But the truth is, is that, our challenge is to get people persuaded that we can make progress when there’s not evidence of that in their daily lives. You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. So it’s not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Let’s just take a second on this....items in parenthesis are mine.... "So it’s not surprising (BECAUSE THESE THINGS COULDN'T POSSIBLY BE GENUINE BELIEFS) then that they (SMALL TOWNS IN MIDWEST) get bitter, they cling to guns (FIRST AMENDMENT = 100% GREAT BUT THE SECOND = STUPIDITY ... AND REALLY THE CRIMINALS WILL RESPECT AN ANTI GUN LAW) or religion (COULDN’T POSSIBLY BE A REAL FAITH IN GOD REGARDLESS OF OUR SITUATIONS) or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment (WRONG, ANTI ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION)."

Ok, let me know if either of these needs more info. I understand I might need to spend more time on this but I wanted to get some info out before too long. I have my bulletproof vest on for those that might not agree with me...it's ok! I like to hear from everybody!
