Bush, Cheney Will Not Attend GOP Convention Due to Hurricane

Saturday, August 30, 2008

Michael Moore Believes In God!

“I was just thinking, this Gustav is proof that there is a God in heaven.”

Michael Moore to MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann in reference to the approaching hurricane's possible timing.

No one can argue that Katrina was anything other than a disaster. However, a vast majority of the mismanagement was state and local. Nevertheless, honest and reasonable people can agree that this kind of thinking is just horrible.

I want to be mad but really all I can think is how sad and how pathetic.

I'm sure you are all at least looking to see if I have added anything new here and there, or new polls, or even new cartoons....hint hint!

Mount Zion

UNMOVED!

One day as I was going through a great trial, one of my dedicated staff handed me the verse below. It settled my spirit immediately. What a gem! Those who trust in the Lord are steady as Mount Zion. I have visited Jerusalem and the city is really built on a rock. There appears to be very little soil-just granite.

Jerusalem is also a high city. The elevation is 2,400 feet above sea level. So when you read in the Scriptures of "going up to Jerusalem" this is really the truth.

Whatever problems you have today, picture yourself sitting upon the high Holy Mountain of Jerusalem--a city built upon a rock. You will be steady--unmoved by any circumstance.

Are you under attack? If so, this gives you an opportunity to express your faith in God. Do these things:

First, find a scripture from God's Word that applies to your situation. Today's Key Verse (below) is terrific.

Second, say out loud "I am trusting in the Lord. I shall remain steady, unmoved by any circumstance."

Third, tell yourself God has never failed you before and He will not fail you now.

Fourth, enter into the Spirit. As Paul says in Galatians, "Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh" (Galatians 5:16). Fear is a force of the flesh. The way to break its hold is to enter into God's presence. When the Spirit of the Lord is moving on your body, fear will vanish like darkness flees the light.

Tuck away these truths in your heart. When you go through a trial, the Holy Spirit will bring them to your remembrance.

KEY VERSE: "Those who trust in the Lord are steady as Mount Zion,

unmoved by any circumstance" (Psalm 125:1 TLB).

Also read: Ps. 146:5; Prov. 16:20; James 5:11

REMEMBER: TRUSTING IN THE LORD WILL KEEP YOU STEADY AS A ROCK.

HOW TO START EACH DAY WITH A POSITIVE OUTLOOK

1. Open a new file in your computer.
2. Name it 'Barack Obama'.
3. Send it to the Recycle Bin.
4. Empty the Recycle Bin.
5. Your PC will ask you: 'Do you really want to get rid of 'Barack Obama?'
6. Firmly Click 'Yes.'
7. Feel better?

GOOD! - Tomorrow we'll do Nancy Pelosi

(Full disclosure...I received this in an e-mail - but I wished I would have thought of it)

OK! OK! OK....don't get all bent out of shape my more liberal friends....just insert an annoying republican's name. Come on you gotta admit now it is a little funny?!

Update: Election Alert

Now for my award winning analysis (ok I haven’t won any awards). Why did Hillary pick the Orange pantsuit? Is there an even deeper meaning? I have three therories.

Theory 1) “O”range for “O”bama for President!

Theory 2) “O”range for “O”h this should have been my convention!

Theory 3) “O”range for “O”reos. Like one too many that is. Come on, we all know what that’s like when we’ve had to temporarily resort to a certain outfit that is a little looser, if you know what I mean!

Well, I guess we’ll never know. I doubt it’s the first one. I'm sure it was just because orange won because they decided it looked best with the backgrounds there.

Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. (Psalm 55:22)

There are countless ways for us to reach out to each other to help lighten the load. It is comforting to me to know that God promises He will do the same. In the ever changing circumstances that each day inevitably brings we can and should take that pain, that stress, that uncertainty and allow God to lift that burden from us and lead us through.

Please take a moment now and while listening to the music, allow the words to calm and restore your strength in whatever situation you might be going through.

Then remember the Chapman family (as well as the countless others who suffer similarly) in your prayers as they walk an unthinkable road.

Will his right wing, narrow minded, crazy views be allowed to go unpunished?

I have to wonder what the reaction will be from those in the media and Hollywood who claim to be the most "open minded" and "tolerant" among us. Hmmmmm. I won't hold my breath but perhaps he is a big enough actor to make it through this without having to fear his livelihood because of one's political beliefs. I hope so. I respect that little thing called the First Amendment.

Obama sowing socialist seeds in young people

OP-ED

We, as parents, are well aware of the importance of our teachers who teach and program our children. We also know how important it is for our children to play with good-thinking children growing up.

Sen. Barack Obama has grown up with the teaching of very angry, militant white and black people: the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, William Ayers and Rev. Michael Pfleger. We cannot say we are not affected by teachers who are militant and angry. We know too well that we become like them, and Mr. Obama will run this country in their mindset.

The Democratic Party, in its quest for power, has managed a propaganda campaign with subliminal messages, creating a God-like figure in a man who falls short in every way. It seems to me that if Mr. Obama wins the presidential election, then Messrs. Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers and Pfleger will gain power for their need to demoralize this country and help create a socialist America.

The Democrats have targeted young people, knowing how easy it is to bring forth whatever is needed to program their minds. I know this process well. I was caught up in the hysteria during the Vietnam era, which was brought about through Marxist propaganda underlying the so-called peace movement. The radicals of that era were successful in giving the communists power to bring forth the killing fields and slaughter 2.5 million people in Cambodia and South Vietnam. Did they stop the war, or did they bring the war to those innocent people? In the end, they turned their backs on all the horror and suffering they helped create and walked away.

Those same leaders who were in the streets in the '60s are very powerful today in their work to bring down the Iraq war and to attack our president, and they have found their way into our schools. William Ayers is a good example of that.

Thank God, today, we have a strong generation of young soldiers who know exactly who they are and what they must do to protect our freedom and our democracy. And we have the leadership of Gen. David Petraeus, who has brought hope and stability to Iraq and prevented the terrorists from establishing a base in that country. Our soldiers are lifting us to an example of patriotism at a time when we've almost forgotten who we are and what is at stake.

If Mr. Obama had his way, he would have pulled our troops from Iraq years ago and initiated an unprecedented bloodbath, turning over thatcountry to the barbarianism of our enemies. With what he has openly stated about his plans for our military, and his lack of understanding about the true nature of our enemies, there's not a cell in my body that can accept the idea that Mr. Obama can keep us safe from the terrorists around the world, and from Iran, which is making great strides toward getting the atomic bomb. And while a misleading portrait of Mr. Obama is being perpetrated by a media controlled by the Democrats, the Obama camp has sent out people to attack the greatness of Sen. John McCain, whose suffering and courage in a Hanoi prison camp is an American legend.

Gen. Wesley Clark, who himself has shame upon him, having been relieved of his command, has done their bidding and become a lying fool in his need to demean a fellow soldier and a true hero.

This is a perilous time, and more than ever, the world needs a united and strong America. If, God forbid, we live to see Mr. Obama president, we will live through a socialist era that America has not seen before, and our country will be weakened in every way.

I Confess...

Since I am, shall we say, less than thrilled with our political climate and candidates it is much easier to be an equal opportunity offender (especially with my cartoon choices).

FYI: I updated my blogs to visit list, cartoons and added a new poll question!

Sorry guys, but these choices stink!

Personally, I am not thrilled with our Presidential candidates based upon their substance. As a real "conservative" I don't really have a dog in this fight so to speak. Too bad. Maybe next time.

Agree with my particular political views or not, I respect those positions and opinions taken based upon SUBSTANCE and not reverse racism, ageism, sexism, etc. However, if your position is based upon race, age, gender I cannot respect that.

If it is wrong to negatively judge someone based upon their race, age or gender than it is equally wrong to do so in a positive way. Wouldn't you agree? If not, where am I wrong?

One Last Thought From Me

Why not remember this act of love and sacrifice daily rather than just at Easter? Yes, this event is an indescribably joyous one because Jesus did rise from the dead but we should never forget how and why He suffered unimaginably before defeating Death and Hell itself on our behalf. He did so while thinking of you and me. In doing so he personally took on our sin, our pain and a debt we could not pay in order to provide a way to complete forgiveness and redemption. The truth is, either way death is not the end and being a “good person” isn’t a substitution for being truly forgiven.

God tells us that by simply believing Jesus rose from the dead, confessing and turning away from our sin and making the Bible the true foundation of our life, we will be forgiven for our sins and live eternally in Heaven.

As you may know, I am far from perfect and if you have doubts about that I’m sure you can find a multitude of people who can confirm that. I have made countless mistakes and bad judgments and will again in the future despite my best intentions. It is because of this that I am exceedingly thankful I can go directly to God and ask for help, ask for forgiveness and know that God's mercy is new every morning as I continually work to keep my foundation on God's Word. Truly accepting God's love, mercy and a true freedom offered in a life firmly anchored in His Word is something there simply aren't words to describe.

I have to admit that I regularly take that for granted and listening to the words in a song like “Via Dolorosa” is one way to help remind me of the sacrifice Jesus made on that cross. Deciding to live for Christ was without a doubt the best decision I made in my life. Don’t get me wrong, it didn’t solve all my problems and make my life perfect. But I have a peace and hope only God can offer and I know in God’s eyes He sees a child forgiven rather than condemned. Now that I am a parent I can’t even begin to imagine what it must be like for God to watch His children exercise their free will when they chose to reject Him rather than embrace the salvation He offers each of us.

Regardless of your feelings on God and Jesus I hope you enjoy the power of the images and music I posted. And thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts about what can be a very sensitive issue.

Via Dolorosa (Latin for Sorrowful Road)
